Application Procedures

There are 3 components to the application process: 

  1. establish an account with the Dietetic Internship Centralized Application System (DICAS) and submit required items
  2. register and complete the required steps for computer matching with D & D Digital
  3. send your non-refundable check or money order for $50 to

    Make the check payable to the Inspira Health Network Dietetic Internship Program. 

Inspira Dietetic Internship is using the on-line centralized application system – DICAS.  DICAS will be available after December 8, 2017 for the Spring 2018 Match.  The online application must be completed for our program by 11:59 PM Central Time on February 15, 2018.  There is a $40 initial application fee and a $20 fee for each additional application submitted to DICAS.

  1. When completing the application form, applicants must include the name and contact information (specifically an email address) for each reference.  This will trigger an email message requesting completion of a reference form.  The form will be completed online.  Students submitting more than one application will need to use the same individuals as references for each application.
  2. Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended should be sent postmarked by the February 15, 2018 deadline to:

    Transcripts must document a minimum of a baccalaureate degree and a date of conferral.
  3. Applicants will be asked to complete and submit a personal statement as part of online DICAS application.  Questions to be addressed in the personal statement include:
    • Why do you want to enter the dietetics profession?
    • Discuss experiences that have helped to prepare you for your career.
    • What are your short-term and long-term goals?
    • What are your strengths and weaknesses or areas needing improvement?
      There is a 1000 word limit. 
  4. A Verification Statement or Declaration of Intent from a  ACEND-accredited program.
D & D Digital
Computer matching through D & D Digital is mandatory. To participate in computer matching, applicants must complete the online registration and select dietetic internship priority choices.  Online registration may be completed through D&D Digital.

Registration will begin December 1, 2017 for the Spring Match, February 15, 2018 deadline.  First applicants must sumbit an online registration and payment of the $50.00 fee by credit card.  Then applicants will receive their personal login and password by email.  This personal login and password will be used to enter/edit your Dietetic Internship Priority Choices and contact information.  All priority choices must be entered/edited by 11:59 PM Central Time, February 15, 2018.
