Each quarter one nurse from the Inspira Woodbury staff will be chosen to receive the award. Congratulations to our DAISY Award® Winner! Deborah Joseph, B.S.N., R.N., of Inspira Woodbury's Behavioral Health unit! “Since day one, Debbie has helped me with all my needs. When there were problems with my medications and I was having anxiety attacks, she got right on it to make sure that I got what I needed. When I felt uncomfortable or just needed an ear, she was right there. I never had a nurse so dedicated to her job. She truly deserves to be noticed. I thank her so much.” – Inspira Woodbury Patient View Our Winners Gallery! History of the DAISY Award At age 33, J. Patrick Barnes passed away due to complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). His family was so impressed by the compassionate care he received during his hospital stay that they decided to create The DAISY Foundation and The DAISY Award® for Extraordinary Nurses as a way to say “thank you”. Patrick’s wife, Tena came up with the acronym DAISY which stands for Diseases Attacking the Immune System.
