My bariatric surgery was 13 years ago this summer. The successful surgery gave me the backbone to re-evaluate my life and my health. I’m now a very healthy eater and I exercise by running or cycling. Do I still like a Jim Main Bakery doughnut every once in awhile? Sure, but I peddle hard to the bakery and back!

At 240 lbs., Nichole’s quality of life was suffering. She had suffered from agonizing joint pain, feeling winded after simple activities, and often felt awkward in social situations.

Nichole wanted to reclaim her once healthier, happier life. For nearly four years, she researched her options and then decided to have bariatric surgery at Inspira Medical Center Vineland.

Inspira’s bariatric team had the skills, knowledge, experience—and answers—that put Nichole at ease. From pre-op testing to follow-up visits and support group sessions, she always felt prepared for the next step in her successful weight-loss journey.

Fourteen months after surgery, Nichole was 120 lbs. lighter and her sense of well-being was restored. Today, seven years after her surgery at Inspira Medical Center Vineland, Nichole has maintained her weight loss and gotten involved in activities she once thought were impossible—including keeping up with her two year old son!

“Bariatric surgery will change your life. But, the commitment to maintaining your weight loss is forever. You must do what the doctors and staff tell you. Trust me...they know what they’re talking about. It’s a lot of work but can be a lot of fun and will completely change your life for the better. It did for me!”
