Emergency Department Nurse Residency

Inspira Medical Center Vineland’s Emergency Department offers a Nurse Residency Training Program for recent graduates looking to gain real-world experience in emergency nursing. The program is fast-paced and demanding, but uniquely rewarding for nurses with the ability to respond rapidly and effectively to patient needs.
Based in a state-of-the-art medical center built in 2004, the program offers nurses the opportunity to train alongside experienced emergency nurses. Inspira Medical Center Vineland is a designated Magnet® facility for quality patient care, nursing excellence and innovations in professional nursing practice by the American Nurses Credential Center’s (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program®.

Program Scope:
  • 18 week program
  • 150 hours of classroom instruction
  • 500 hours of clinical training with a preceptor
  • Scenario based training in state-of-the-art simulation center
Courses include Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, dysrhythmia, critical care and topics in emergency nursing

Applicant Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required or obtained by December 31, 2019
  • Current registration with New Jersey Board of Nursing
  • Current NJ RN License required
  • American Heart Healthcare Provider CPR required
  • Previous Emergency Department technician or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) experience preferred
  • Demonstrates clinical knowledge, nursing competence, basic leadership skills and decision-making ability
