Inspira Medical Center Woodbury will be transformed from a hospital into a health center, offering ER services, behavioral health and outpatient care, including imaging, lab and more. Inpatient services will move to the new hospital when construction is completed. Partnering with the City of Woodbury and the Gloucester County Improvement Authority, Inspira has committed $100,000 to creating a redevelopment plan for the Woodbury campus that will look at the best use of the property. We expect that more than 500 jobs will remain at the facility after hospital services move to the new location. Why is Inspira moving hospital services to a new location? Several years ago Inspira implemented a strategic assessment of its facilities and found that renovating Inspira Medical Center Woodbury to enhance its current inpatient hospital services was too costly. In addition to the need to update the aging Woodbury hospital, the current site is also landlocked and does not provide adequate space to build the new services that we feel are necessary to meet community needs. Will the new hospital affect services at Inspira Medical Centers Elmer and Vineland? Both Inspira Medical Center Elmer and Inspira Medical Center Vineland remain essential parts of our network and we currently have no plans to change any services. As a part of our continued strategic master facilities planning, we will examine services across the network to ensure we determine the best use of our facilities, grow services and effectively serve the health needs of our community. Both medical centers are distinguished for providing quality care. Inspira Elmer has developed a reputation for excellence in patient satisfaction, as well as orthopedic surgery and neurosurgery. Inspira Vineland provides Cumberland County with an array of exceptional services, recently resulting in recognition as one of the ten best hospitals in New Jersey from U.S. News & World Report.
