South Jersey Healthcare Opens New Cancer Pavilion
at Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on May 11, 2005
 
VINELAND, NJ (April 15) - South Jersey Healthcare will celebrate the opening of the Frank and Edith Scarpa Regional Cancer Pavilion with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at 3 p.m.
Speakers will include Chet Kaletkowski, SJH CEO; Gary Simmerman, Chairman of the SJH System Board; Bruno Basile, Chairman of the SJH Hospital Board; Dr. David Blom, Chairman of the SJH Cancer Committee; Dr. Joseph Fanelle, Medical Director of the Frank and Edith Scarpa Regional Cancer Pavilion; John Scarpa, founder of the John F. Scarpa Foundation, the major donor to the center; and Dr. Paul Engstrom, Medical Director of the Fox Chase Network, Senior Vice President of Population Science and keynote speaker.

The Frank and Edith Scarpa Regional Cancer Pavilion is located at the SJH Regional Medical Center in Vineland and provides South Jersey residents with convenient access to the latest cancer treatments and technologies found in big city cancer centers. The SJH cancer program has been an affiliate of the Fox Chase Cancer Center since 1995 and is the only cancer program in Cumberland, Salem, or Gloucester counties designated as a Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program by the American College of Surgeons – Commission on Cancer.

The SJH team of board-certified physicians, registered radiation therapists and nationally-certified oncology nurses has provided state-of-the-art radiation therapy, medical oncology and cancer support services to thousands of patients in the region for more than 25 years.

SJH is a nonprofit, integrated health care system, providing access to a continuum of delivery services. SJH provides hospital services, numerous community health clinics, home health services, and specialty services, which serve the medical and healthcare needs of Southern New Jersey residents.
