Vineland, NJ (July 8) – NJBIZ, New Jersey’s premiere business news publication, recently honored Sami Abate, RN, BS, CCRN as a Finalist in the Nurse of the Year category during the 2010 Healthcare Heroes awards breakfast and ceremony held on June 25, 2010 at The Palace at Somerset Park in Somerset, New Jersey.
The Healthcare Heroes awards program recognizes excellence and innovation and honors the efforts of individuals and organizations making a significant impact on the quality of healthcare in New Jersey. Sami is the Assistant Nurse Manager of the Cardiac ICU and Step-down units at South Jersey Healthcare Regional Medical Center.
Finalists were selected by an independent panel of judges in each of the eleven categories: Corporate Achievement, Education Hero-Individual, Education Hero-Organization, Hospital of the Year, Innovation Hero-Individual, Innovation Hero-Organization, Nurse of the Year, Nursing Home/Assisted Living Facility of the Year, Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Center of the Year, Physician of the Year and Volunteer of the Year. Out of this elite group, one winner was selected from each category and announced at the awards ceremony.
