Vineland, NJ (July 12) – The SJH Employee Excellence committee has selected four employees to be honored for their commitment to excellence and consistent advancement of South Jersey Healthcare’s values.

Employee of the Year–Donna Johnson, B.S., M.T.
As the Laboratory Services coordinator for education, patient safety and performance improvement, Donna Johnson wears many hats. Yet regardless of which one she is wearing, the safety of patients and staff remain her top priority. “Donna’s paramount concern is the safeguarding of all individuals with whom she and the entire department interact,” said Brian Gross, director of Laboratory Services. “I have tremendous respect for her unyielding honesty and integrity. Donna is hardworking, dedicated and deserving of this recognition.” In addition to patient safety, Johnson is focused on improving the accuracy of lab tests and raising awareness of regulatory standards. She joined SJH in 1980.

Leader of the Year–Robin Taylor
As the nurse manager of MaternityCare at SJH Elmer Hospital, Robin Taylor has earned respect and praise from her staff, fellow managers and the community. Her unit receives high marks in patient satisfaction and her staff’s employee satisfaction scores are consistently strong. “Robin’s staff and colleagues throughout the hospital know they can count on her for support and advice,” said Janet Davies, vice president of Patient Care Services, SJH Elmer Hospital. “Her commitment to clinical and service excellence is evident in everything she does.” Taylor has been instrumental in helping Elmer to become the first hospital in the state to apply for Baby Friendly status. A decision on the application is expected soon. Taylor also works as a Magnet liaison, and volunteers for the March of Dimes, SJH Spirit of Women and Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies–Salem County.

Co-Director of the Year–Bridget Feery
By holding herself to the highest ethical standards, and expecting all members of her team follow suit, Bridget Feery, director of Human Resources, has developed a reputation for objectively applying SJH policies to often ambiguous workplace situations. While at the same time, many employees have benefitted from her experience and guidance during difficult times. “Bridget brings great insight into difficult issues, and works tirelessly to arrive at outcomes that are honest and fair,” said Erich Florentine, chief people officer. “As a nurse and Human Resources professional, Bridget is committed to quality care and Patient Satisfaction; she understands the role each person can play in delivering both.” Feery’s leadership and direct participation in many employee events is credited with helping to make them successful. She joined SJH in 2002.

Co-Director of the Year–Nancy Cimprich
Through professionalism and commitment to the health system’s values, Nancy Cimprich, director of customer service for Information Systems, has successfully created a customer service environment in the Information Systems Department. Cimprich’s development and implementation of the IS Customer Support Center was a major step in changing the “face” of the IS Department. According to Tom Pacek, chief information officer and vice president for Information Systems, Cimprich leads by example, setting high performance expectations for herself. She also encourages all IS management and staff to make recommendations about ways to improve the department and the service it provides to employees, physicians and other customers. Cimprich joined SJH in 2007 and has provided leadership and expertise in the development, launch and support of clinical systems, including MAK (Medication Administration Check system), Soarian Nursing Documentation and CPOE (Computerized Physician Order Entry).

SJH is a nonprofit, integrated health care system, providing access to a continuum of health services. SJH provides hospital services, numerous community health clinics, home health services, and specialty services, which serve the medical and health care needs of Southern New Jersey residents.
