Friday, April 3, 2015 - Residents of Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem Counties Urged to “Click the Inspira Link” for Community Health Improvement
MULLICA HILL, NJ (April 3, 2015) – Inspira Health Network encourages residents of Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem counties to participate in an anonymous and confidential online survey. The information gathered from this survey will be used to help better understand the health issues and needs of our community. The survey link is located at the top right of Inspira’s website homepage, www.InspiraHealthNetwork.org.

This survey, part of a comprehensive three-year Community Health Needs Assessment project, should take about 10-15 minutes to complete and is only open to individuals 18 years of age and older. At the completion of the survey, participants will be eligible to enter a $50 gift card drawing if they decide to include their names.

Participants will respond to questions ranging from: access to healthcare and health risk behaviors; exercise habits; and various medical conditions (such as diabetes, heart disease, or stroke).

“Inspira and community organizations from our three counties formed a Health & Wellness Alliance to combine efforts to improve the health of our communities,” notes Dante Rieti, chair of this alliance and retired director of the Workforce Development Program for Cumberland and Salem. “The survey’s results will show the progress we have made in the past three years and give us the direction to move forward, united as a group.”

“The first Community Health Needs Assessment, completed by Inspira in 2012, indicated that access to healthcare was a significant issue throughout the tri-county area,” explains Carolyn Heckman, vice president of Community Relations at Inspira. “Inspira provided certified application counselors in our hospitals to assist the uninsured and underinsured individuals and families with the application processes for Medicaid and the health coverage provided by the Affordable Care Act.  Information about the finding of the first CHNA is available on the Inspira website, under “Community Needs Assessment.”

If you have questions about the assessment or if you would like to know when you can review the results of the 2015 Community Health Needs Assessment, please call Terri Montana, Inspira Health Network, (856) 641-8290.
