Thursday, January 5, 2012 - Inspira Health Network earns national recognition for Women’s Health program Designated as National Spirit of Women Premier Hospital

Vineland, NJ (December 22) – Inspira Health Network is a proud member of the Spirit of Women Network, a partnership that helps us to improve women's lives by offering innovative health and community programs. Recently, SJH was one of a very small number of facilities in the country to be selected as a National Spirit of Women Premier Hospital System for providing exceptional care for women.

This award is based on Spirit of Women’s National Standards of Excellence in Women’s Health, which were developed in consultation with the Office of Women’s Health as part of the Department of Health and Human Service (DHHS). Spirit uses these standards to measure excellence in women’s healthcare and community outreach among their members.

To receive this distinction, Inspira Health Network participated in a comprehensive evaluation process and demonstrated innovation and excellence in women’s programming by meeting or exceeding at least 80 percent of these National Standards. They require focus on women-centered care, call-to-action education, and access to care in the following seven areas:

  • Integration of a Focused Community Assessment
  • Implementation of Comprehensive Life Stage Programming
  • Sensitivity to Community Diversity and Cultural Differences
  • Strategic Alignment of Women’s Service Lines
  • Leading Innovation and Outreach Initiatives
  • Managing a Process for Quality Improvement
  • Multidisciplinary Approach to Care

“It is very rewarding to be nationally recognized for programs that we believe are so important for women of all ages in our community,” said Chet Kaletkowski, president and CEO of Inspira Health Network.
