  • Women have special health needs. That's why Inspira Rehab Care and Inspira Woodbury Physical Medicine and Rehabilitationhas developed programs that specifically target the needs of women. The discomforts associated with urinary incontinence, osteoporosis or lymphedema are all uncomfortable conditions women may experience at some time in their life. Inspira Rehab Care has specialty programs designed to help minimize or even relieve the symptoms associated with these conditions.

    Incontinence therapy - focuses on strengthening the pelvic floor muscles with Kegel exercises and use of biofeedback.

    Osteoporosis - therapy to achieve postural corrections, activity modification and specific weight-bearing exercise programs to minimize the risk of fractures.

    Edema - a certified lymphedema therapist will work with patients to manage edema that results from removal of lymph nodes and to regain functional use of their affected extremity.

    Programs designed for women in mind allow patients to take a more active role in managing their condition. Specialized programs include;

    • The Urinary and Fecal Incontinence program is an excellent compliment to standard gynecologic and urogynecologic care.
    • The LifeSpine Program helps to correct movement patterns that may chronically irritate a condition. Patients receive education on ways to perform daily activities and reduce risk of injury or pain.
