Inspira Earns 2021 Most Wired Recognition for Hospitals, Outpatient Locations

Nov 2, 2021

Inspira Health’s three hospitals have earned 2021 Most Wired recognition from the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME). Inspira’s ambulatory sites were also honored with Most Wired recognition. Each year, CHIME conducts an annual survey to assess how effectively health care organizations apply technologies, in their clinical and business programs, to improve health and care in their communities.

“At Inspira Health, we are continuously looking for ways to improve quality of care and the patient experience; innovation is one of our core values that fuels these efforts,” said Dave Johnson, Senior Vice President and Chief Innovation and Information Officer at Inspira Health. “We have implemented new technologies throughout the pandemic to address the unprecedented challenges we have faced. It’s an honor to receive recognition for both our acute care and ambulatory sites from a notable organization such as CHIME. This recognition serves as a testament to our organization’s steadfast commitment to advancing technology for the benefit of our patients and community.”

As part of the recognition process, CHIME certifies each most wired facility. Inspira’s hospitals earned level 8 certification, making them just one of three groups of hospitals in Southern New Jersey to achieve level eight or higher. Inspira’s ambulatory locations earned level 7 certification, placing them among just two South Jersey systems to achieve level 7 or higher for their ambulatory sites. Ambulatory sites include imaging centers, urgent care, physician practices, sleep medicine labs, physical rehabilitation and wound care centers, outpatient behavioral health facilities and other community-based services that don’t require a stay in the hospital.

“Digital transformation in health care has accelerated to an unprecedented level since 2020, and the next few years will bring a wave of innovation that empowers health care consumers and will astound the industry,” said CHIME President and CEO Russell P. Branzell. “The Digital Health Most Wired program recognizes the outstanding digital leaders who have paved the way for this imminent revolution in health care. Their trailblazing commitment to rapid transformation has set an example for the entire industry in how to pursue a leadership vision with determination, brilliant planning and courage to overcome all challenges.”

This is the fourth year that CHIME has conducted the survey and overseen the program. In each successive year, CHIME has expanded the survey to capture more types of organizations that serve patients across the continuum of care. CHIME also continues to promote the program internationally to provide a global overview of digital health advancements.
