MULLICA HILL, NJ (December 7, 2018) – Last night, Inspira Health Network President & CEO John DiAngelo was recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal as a “Most Admired CEO” at an awards reception at the Ritz Carlton Philadelphia. Alongside 22 other regional business leaders, DiAngelo was honored for his vision, innovation, community service and overall accomplishments that have advanced Inspira during his tenure.

Serving as CEO since 2014, DiAngelo has led the network toward its mission of improving the health of South Jersey. Under his leadership, Inspira has established several new initiatives and programs – with an emphasis on driving innovation and supporting the most fragile communities.

“The delivery of health care is evolving rapidly, but our mission – to take care of our community in our community – has and will continue to remain constant,” said DiAngelo. “We’re steadfast in expanding our footprint to better serve South Jersey and always seeking innovative, patient-first solutions. This honor underscores the success of the entire network of caregivers and staff that have helped us become a leader in innovation and patient safety, and I’m humbled and grateful for their dedication to achieving our mission every day.”

Innovation is at the core of Inspira, and through John’s vision, the network has driven advancement through several key initiatives. In the past year alone, Inspira has launched an Innovation Center to accelerate the development and implementation of patient-centered technologies; Health+ technology bars that offer wearables and on-site health management counsel; a Capacity Command Center at its Medical Center Vineland to analyze patient volume and improve the patient experience; and a Senior Emergency Department, also in Vineland, to cater to the needs of the elderly population. Inspira has also hosted an inaugural Health Hack alongside Rowan University, co-funding winning ideas through its $1 million Innovation Fund.

Under John’s leadership, Inspira has also launched several initiatives to support underserved communities – tackling homelessness, supporting health literacy and improving access to nutritious foods. As a founding partner of the Cumberland County Housing First Collaborative, Inspira has helped place more than 50 chronically homeless individuals into permanent housing. To help battle the opioid epidemic, the network has distributed Narcan to law enforcement in Gloucester, Salem and Cumberland Counties; distributed 50,000 medication disposal pouches to community organizations; and is opening the first inpatient acute medical detox unit in South Jersey to provide care for people with substance use disorders, without regard to insurance status or ability to pay.

Alongside these programs, which underscore the network’s commitment to increasing access to high-quality care, Inspira has grown its access points from 60 to 150+ in the past five years, and will open a brand-new medical center in Mullica Hill next fall.
