Nykola and Alyce Kudla Nursing Education Scholarship Fund Supports Inspira Nurses

Millville, NJ (September 28, 2022) — A generous donation to the Inspira Health Foundation by Alyce Kudla of Millville is providing financial support to Inspira Health nurses pursuing educational opportunities. Prompted by her and her late husband’s deep appreciation for the positive impact of education on the community, her donation is funding the Nykola and Alyce Kudla Nursing Education Scholarship. Alyce and Nykola were long-time educators in Millville. The funds will assist Inspira nurses who are enrolling in courses to expand their skillsets and advance their careers.

Alyce Kudla and Roseanne Racano A generous donation by Alyce Kudla of Millville is funding a new scholarship for Inspira Health nurses. Inspira’s Roseanne Racano was selected as the first recipient of the Nykola and Alyce Kudla Nursing Education Scholarship.

"Alyce and Nick taught, mentored, and touched the lives of countless students in the greater Millville community," said Elizabeth Sheridan, chief administrative officer for Inspira Medical Centers Vineland and Elmer, and Inspira Health Center Bridgeton. "We can only try to imagine how many people's lives have been made better through their efforts."

In announcing the Nykola and Alyce Kudla Nursing Education Scholarship Fund, Alyce unveiled a shadow box that contains a sculpture carved from a plain block of wood. Its transformation into a work of art, which inspires and brings beauty to the world, symbolizes the transformative quality of education. Created by Nick, the carving depicts a sandpiper, a common sight at the Jersey shore.

"We are grateful to Alyce for choosing to fund a scholarship in memory of her beloved Nick," said Peter Kaprielyan, chief development officer for Inspira Health. "This investment in support of our nurses will have a profound and long-lasting impact on our community. We thank Alyce for selecting Inspira as the recipient of these funds."

The first recipient of the scholarship is Roseanne Racano, case manager in Inspira Health's Care Coordination Department. Racano is pursuing a doctorate of nursing practice from Wilmington University, and will receive her degree in spring 2023.
