Inspira Health proudly recognizes the philanthropy of Gary and Betty Galloway of Vineland, N.J., during a recognition event at Inspira Medical Center Vineland. The Galloway’s gift is creating a neuroscience fund that will initially be used for advanced nursing education. In 2023, the health system joined forces with Cooper University Health Care to create Cooper and Inspira Neuroscience.

“Gary and Betty care deeply about the health and well-being of their community,” said Amy Mansue, president and CEO of Inspira Health. “Through board leadership, fundraising efforts, and personal philanthropy, Gary and Betty have generously and graciously supported Inspira Health and its Foundation for many years.

And for the most personal of reasons, their commitment to the health system has grown even stronger since 2020.  After two health crises within the Galloway family, Gary and Betty made neuroscience a funding priority.

"Without a doubt, the rapid expert care provided to our loved one is the reason there were no long-lasting effects from stroke," said Gary Galloway. "The doctors and nurses, therapists and technicians were all compassionate and very skilled. I'm forever grateful for the care they provided."

"Watching the doctors, nurses, and others take care of my loved ones has led us to make gifts that specifically support the neuroscience program," he continued. "It is so important to have outstanding neurologists, neurosurgeons, and specially trained nurses and staff right here in our community."

The first recipients of the Galloway’s gift are Jessica Pacitti, R.N., B.S.N., and Danielle Opperman, R.N., M.S.N., clinical nurse educators, specializing in emergency nursing, at Inspira Medical Center Vineland. The new neuroscience fund will cover their expenses to attend a national conference on advances in stroke care.

“Gary and Betty exemplify the philanthropic spirit that makes such a positive impact on our community,” said Robin Walton, senior vice president of External Affairs and chief philanthropy officer for Inspira Health. “We are grateful for their generosity and commitment to our health system.”

To further support the health and well-being of their community, the Galloways have also committed an additional gift to support the critically important field of neuroscience.

Gary Galloway is the current board chair of Inspira Health Foundation’s Board of Trustees and member of the Inspira LIFE Board, the health system's program of all-inclusive care for the elderly. He previously served as chair of the Inspira Health Hospital Board from 2014 to 2020. Now retired, Gary and Betty were the owners of Rental Country, a construction equipment company based in Vineland, for more than 40 years.
