CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NJ (May 24, 2016) – The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) recently recognized Inspira Medical Center Vineland’s Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) and Cardiac Step Down Unit (CSDU) with a gold-level Beacon Award for Excellence.
The national three-year award is given to units who successfully improve patient outcomes and foster healthy work environments. This is the fourth consecutive Beacon Award that Inspira Medical Center Vineland’s CICU has received and the first for its CSDU.
“We are very proud of our nursing leaders and staff for achieving this prestigious recognition,” said Elizabeth Sheridan, R.N., M.A., chief operations officer of Inspira Medical Centers Elmer and Vineland. “It represents their unwavering commitment to providing our patients with the best possible care as well as an exceptional experience.”
Inspira Medical Center Vineland’s CICU and CSDU earned a gold award by meeting the following evidence-based criteria:

- Evidence-Based Practice and Processes
- Outcome Measurement
