Patel Appointed Medical Director of Inspira LIFE Program

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NJ (January 4, 2016) – Inspira Health Network’s LIFE Program is pleased to announce that Ankur Patel, M.D. has been appointed the program’s new medical director. In this role, Dr. Patel will provide medical oversight for the care of all Inspira LIFE program participants.

Prior to joining Inspira, Dr. Patel served as the medical director for an Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit in Newport News, Virginia. He is board certified in both family medicine and geriatrics by the American Board of Family Medicine. After earning his bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, Dr. Patel attended medical school at St. James School of Medicine in the Netherlands Antilles. He subsequently completed a residency in family medicine at the University of Alabama. Dr. Patel then went on to complete his fellowship training in geriatric medicine at Glennan Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Currently, he is working towards a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Massachusetts.

Dr. Patel is a member of the American Association of Physician Leadership and the American Geriatrics Society. In 2013 and 2014, Dr. Patel was nominated for the “Champion of Caring” award at Riverside Health System, which recognizes health care professionals that go above and beyond the call of duty for patients or their families.
 

About Inspira LIFE Program

Inspira LIFE is a national program of all-inclusive care for the elderly or (PACE). This comprehensive health plan offers an integrated and proactive approach for providing healthcare needs for seniors 55 and older that are clinically eligible. The program’s goal is to keep seniors living independently and safely in their homes and community. The program combines center based care with home care and offers primary care, specialty care, physical and occupational therapy, recreation therapy, transportation, nutritional counseling, social services, durable medical equipment, transportation, and medications.
