Improving the Patient Journey

Amy Mansue

Hello, and welcome to the November edition of Provider Inspiration

As we move into the winter season, I hope everyone is doing everything they can to stay safe and healthy. As a reminder, if you’re an Inspira employee with medical or religious exemptions to the COVID-19 vaccine, you’re required to submit weekly test results to Employee Health. Self-test kits are available at all three of our testing sites in Millville, Woolwich and Woodbury. In addition, for those already vaccinated, the COVID-19 booster shot is available to eligible groups at our vaccine tents in Mullica Hill and Vineland.

Inspira Health began providing the pediatric Pfizer vaccine to children 5 to 11 years of age on November 3, 2021. Initial demand has been high, with almost 1,200 children receiving the pediatric dose in the first three days of administration. We are currently not accepting walk-ins, so please encourage your patients to register for COVID-19 vaccinations, for their children or themselves, at

We anticipate this may be a bad flu season, so I’m encouraging you to get your flu shot as soon as possible. Inspira Health providers and staff can receive their flu vaccinations on campus or at one of the COVID-19 vaccine clinics. The flu shot is also available to the community at all Urgent Care locations and at our retail pharmacies in Mullica Hill and Vineland.

As part of our strategic plan, we’ve been looking at patient expectations and how we can improve accessibility and satisfaction. Ever-increasing requirements and regulations in health care put a distance between us and our patients, so it’s important that we take a step back to see if there are better ways to simplify and enhance the patient journey, while continuing to adhere to all the necessary regulations.

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month, and in honor of this, we’re highlighting our new Monarch navigational bronchoscopy platform. Inspira Medical Center Vineland is one of only 100 hospitals in the country to offer this minimally invasive screening technology, which allows us to identify lung nodules earlier and more accurately. We’re also taking steps to address caregiver burnout, clarifying the role of urogynecologists and spreading the word about the benefits of monoclonal antibody treatment for high-risk COVID-19 patients.

I’m so proud and excited to continue on this journey with you, and I know we’ll do great things.

Best well and stay safe,

Amy Mansue
