The Cumberland County Council for Young Children (CCCYC) is a health-focused council for parents, caregivers and community members to come together as partners to share and learn about the issues that affect the health, education and wellbeing of the children in Cumberland County. The Council’s goal is to share ideas and solutions for ways to build stronger connections with children and families.
Our Approach to Supporting the Youth of Cumberland County
The CCCYC operates several subcommittees that focus on education, health and community resources. Local groups in Bridgeton, Millville and Vineland meet regularly.

Health
Preventive and primary health services are offered to all community residents through community events, workshops and trainings. Related topics and activities include pre- and post-natal care, nutritional health and education needs for infants and children 0-8 years of age.
Education
Education intervention services are offered to all community residents through community events, workshops and trainings. Related topics and activities include parenting, infant education and reading readiness for children entering the school system.
Parent Leadership
Parenting education is an essential component of the council and is offered to all caregivers via a combination of information, skill-building and supportive services. Emphasis is placed on healthy child development and the use of positive parenting techniques. Services are intended to help strengthen families by enhancing parental resilience and social connections.
