ELMER, NJ – May 27, 2015 – According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 719,000 total knee replacements and 332,000 total hip replacements were performed in 2010. In 2014, The National Osteoporosis Foundation reported that a woman’s risk of hip fracture is equal to her combined risk of breast, uterine and ovarian cancer (NOF 2014, “What Women Need to Know”). The Women’s Choice Award identifies America’s Best Hospitals in Orthopedics in order to address the growing need for bone and joint care, and disease prevention.

Inspira Medical Center Elmer recently became the only hospital in New Jersey to receive the 2015 Women’s Choice Award® as one of America’s Best Hospital’s for Orthopedics, providing exceptional patient care and treatment. By earning the Women’s Choice Award seal, Inspira Medical Center Elmer has joined an elite network of hospitals committed to a global mission to empower women to make informed health care choices for them and their families. Based on the Women’s Choice survey process, Inspira Medical Center Elmer ranked in the top 10% of hospitals nationwide for orthopedic care.

We do this by providing people in the community access to highly skilled physicians with advanced training as well as an experienced staff who are committed to patient education and support that is tailored to each patient’s needs.”

Hospitals qualify as an America’s Best Hospital for Orthopedics based on an in-depth proprietary scoring process, utilizing data reported by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. As one of America’s Best Hospitals for Orthopedics, Inspira Medical Center Elmer was selected due to their excellent rating in areas such as post-treatment complications, patient recommendation ratings, availability of microscopic surgery and adequate post-surgical care.

“Being recognized as a hospital of choice among women takes the commitment of leadership and staff, as well as an ongoing devotion to providing every patient with quality care and a positive patient experience,” said Janet Davies, vice president of Patient Care Services at Inspira Medical Center Elmer. “Our highly skilled orthopedic surgeons and staff demonstrate remarkable dedication to their patients each and every day and we are pleased to offer these services right here in the community.”
