Inspira Health Appoints Robin A. Walton as Vice President of Government and External Affairs

Walton to help promote and protect Inspira’s community interests as the network advances its strategic growth

Mullica Hill, NJ – Inspira Health today announced the appointment of Robin A. Walton to vice president of Government and External Affairs, effective August 30. 

In this role, Walton will forge collaborative relationships on behalf of Inspira with local, regional, and state political representatives and government officials. She will also represent Inspira as a member on associations where public policy and advocacy are key goals, and counsel Inspira leaders on health care bills and legislation.

Walton has more than a decade of experience in government and community relations in higher education, health care and library services.  Since 2013, she has served as the vice president for Community and Government Affairs at Thomas Edison University, where she has worked for over 16 years. 

Earlier in her career, Walton served as confidential assistant to the Chief of Staff and Senior Policy Advisor to the Commissioner at the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services. She also coordinated community, local, and state affairs for Capital Health.

Walton earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey and her Master of Science in Management degree from Thomas Edison State University. Walton was also a 2015 Harvard Kennedy School Emerging Leader Program participant and a 2018 graduate of the Public Affairs Council's Institute.

Walton serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Chamber of Commerce of Southern New Jersey and on the Board of Trustees for RWJBarnabas Hamilton and Rowan College at Burlington County. 

Previously, Walton served on the Board of Trustees for the New Jersey Hospital Association and the Children's Specialized Hospital. She served three terms as an appointed public university task force representative for the National Task Force for Higher Education Government Relations. Walton was also appointed by the New Jersey Senate to the Governor's Advisory Council on Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention and to the Governor's Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Task Force. 

Walton received the Trailblazer Award from the National Council of 100 Black Women Southern NJ Chapter and was a recipient for the Marvin “Swede” Johnson Achievement Award for Higher Education Government Relations. From NJ BIZ magazine, she was honored as one of the Top 50 Women in Business in New Jersey and as one of the Top 40 Under 40.
