Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia presented John A. DiAngelo, retired former president and CEO of Inspira Health, with an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree for his remarkable accomplishments and career. The presentation was made during the University’s spring commencement ceremony.
DiAngelo, a member of the Saint Joseph’s class of 1974, served in various health care leadership roles for nearly 40 years, including 20 at Inspira Health, prior to his retirement in 2020.
“We are so proud that John was recognized by his alma mater for helping bring high quality and ever-expanding health services to the people of South Jersey,” said Amy Mansue, president and CEO, Inspira Health. “John’s commitment to patient safety, clinical quality and service excellence left an indelible mark on our health system and propelled Inspira’s mission to build healthier communities.”
During his tenure, DiAngelo established Inspira as a leader in innovation, changing the way health care is delivered South Jersey. Under his leadership, Inspira Health grew from 60 access points to more than 150 and opened Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill and the adjoining Leading-Edge Cancer Center. Prior to serving as president and CEO, DiAngelo was Inspira’s chief financial officer from 2000 to 2013.
