MAJOR FUNCTION:

The Government Affairs Intern will work closely with the Sr. Vice President of Government Affairs to increase Inspira Health's profile and influence public policy on Capitol Hill, with the administration, and in state governments. Ensure that the patient remains at the center of focus. Understand existing Government Affairs processes and responsibilities. Assist the Sr. Vice President of Government Affairs to implement strategic projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must be in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Political science, government, or public policy major, preferred.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Must be a current student returning to school in the fall.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal legislative process.
  • Highly proficient writing and research skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organized, with an ability to prioritize time sensitive assignments.
  • Ability to work independently and know when to ask questions.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Certification/ Licensure:

  • N/A

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Interest in interaction between government and business.
