MAJOR FUNCTION:
The Nurse Practitioner should have strong clinical skills and thrive in a team-oriented environment. The NP will see patients in the clinic with an abbreviated schedule to allow for Inbox coverage. This role is pivotal in managing the daily influx of patient communication and clinical results to provide timely, comprehensive, and compassionate care.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- 3+ years in primary care
- Strong knowledge of primary care, chronic disease management, and preventive healthcare
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team
Certification/ Licensure:
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in NJ
- Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
- Active NJ CDS and DEA license
- BLS certification

Primary Care Role
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests
• Develop, implement, and manage patient-centered treatment plans for acute and chronic health conditions.
• Provide preventive care, including health screenings, immunizations, and counseling on lifestyle modifications.
• Prescribe medications, therapies, and other interventions within scope of practice and regulatory guidelines.
• Coordinate with specialists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment options, and disease prevention.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
Inboxologist Role
• Patient Communication: Respond to patient messages promptly, ensuring all inquiries are addressed with empathy, accuracy, and in accordance with practice guidelines.
• Inbox Management: Organize and prioritize a high volume of patient messages, test results, refill requests, and other clinical documents to maintain timely responses and follow-up.
• Care Coordination: Work closely with primary care providers, specialists, and other healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care and seamless patient experience.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, treatment decisions, and follow-up actions in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Clinical Decision-Making: Utilize clinical expertise to triage and manage patient concerns within the scope of practice, escalating cases when necessary for further evaluation.
• Medication Management: Process medication refills, adjust prescriptions as appropriate, and collaborate with pharmacists when necessary.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with best practices, clinical guidelines, and organizational policies related to patient care and inbox management.
