RN, BU - Radiology - Elmer

MAJOR FUNCTION:To provide quality nursing care in the Department of Radiology. Skills needed include assessment, communication, teaching, leadership, and management. Ensure patient privacy and dignity. Scheduling, pre, intra and post discharge care of invasive procedures. Assist/manage patients with contrast reactions. Areas of function: X-Ray, Ultrasound, CT, MRI and Nuclear Medicine. Education of staff, working collaboratively with physicians, managers and peers to produce a positive working environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing with current licensure in the State of New Jersey as required by law. You must be enrolled within six months of hire or rehire in a CCNE or NLNAC accredited BSN or MSN program (or foreign equivalent) with a graduation date that falls on or before the employee’s third employment anniversary date into a nursing position. *
• BSN or MSN graduates preferred
• *Grandfathered Exemption of Educational Requirement:
• Hired on or before June 1, 2013 - IMC
• Hired on or before August 4, 2015 – IMCW
• Recent experience in the specialty area is preferred or three years of critical care experience would be considered.

Certification:

• Must be a Registered Nurse with a current New Jersey State licensure.
• CRN or eligible preferred.
• ACLS certification required.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Demonstrates effective written communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing and walking.
• Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patients.
• Lifts supplies and equipment.
• Subject to potential electrical and radiation hazards.
