GLASSBORO, NJ (September 25, 2013) — Joseph Szgalsky, M.D., board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, has joined Inspira Medical Group Family Medicine Glassboro 25 years after finishing his residency with Inspira Medical Center Woodbury (formerly Underwood-Memorial Hospital) in 1988. As the family residency program’s first graduate to stay in the area, Szgalsky went on to care for area families at Woodbury Family Practice until 2010. The beloved physician, known for his philosophy of treating the entire family in a holistic caring manner, has spent more than 28 years practicing in the Gloucester County area.
Szgalsky attended St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science in 1981. He subsequently earned a medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia in 1985. In addition to his experience as a family medicine practitioner, Szgalsky has provided specialized patient care in geriatric medicine, occupational medicine, school physician, and also as a physical examiner for the Federal Aviation Administration. In 1996 Szgalsky was honored as the first recipient of the “Healthcare Provider of the Year” award from ARC Associates.
As part of Inspira Medical Group Family Medicine Glassboro, Szgalsky will provide families with patient care through every stage of life, including the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses as well as maintaining overall health and wellness, disease prevention, counseling and patient education.
