In fact, just 24 hours after you stop using tobacco, your risk of heart attack begins to decrease. Two weeks to 3 months later your lung function begins to improve. One year later your risk of a coronary heart diseases is reduced to half of that of a smoker. Five to 15 years later, your risk of stroke will be the same as a person who never used tobacco.

Provider-Assisted Programming
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), tobacco users trying to quit can double or triple their chances by getting counseling, medicine or both.
Whether you’re taking steps to quit smoking, chewing tobacco, or vaping, the Inspira Quit Center provides comprehensive services, all at no cost.
This program is supported by the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH), Division of Community Health Services (DCHS), Office of Tobacco Control and Prevention (OTCP).
Virtual and In-person Services Available
Our certified tobacco treatment specialists are proud to offer a free smoking cessation assessment by phone or in-person to individuals from Cumberland, Salem and Gloucester counties. Eligible patients can have free nicotine replacement patches and gum or lozenges shipped directly to their homes.
Additionally, our six-week quit groups are now offered virtually or in-person
