The Inspira Health Grand Gala marks a night of celebration for our staff, donors and the entire South Jersey community—we couldn’t reach our goals without your support. We joined together with other supporters and community members to recognize your contributions, hear about our recent accomplishments and look forward to our future goals of advancing health care for all.
The 2024 Grand Gala will support Inspira Health's Behavioral & Mental Health Services. Additionally, this year we will recognize Dr. James George and host an auction of his original artwork.

Recognizing Dr. James George
Inspira Health is proud to honor James E. George, MD, JD at our 2024 Grand Gala.
Dr. George began his emergency medicine career at Inspira Health’s former Underwood-Memorial Hospital in Woodbury, NJ. He is a founding member of TeamHealth, an association of more than 20,000 clinicians throughout the country.
He served his community for decades in his role as an emergency medicine physician until a devastating accident in 2016. Dr. George suffered a brain and spinal cord injury after a fall in his home, resulting in a coma and quadriplegia. He spent six months at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital in Philadelphia where he regained partial functional use of his non-dominant left arm and leg, and limited use of his right arm and leg.
When he was introduced to art therapy during his in-patient rehabilitation stay at Magee, the miracle of art’s healing ability took hold in ways he never could have imagined.
Today, Dr. George is living a full life − enjoying his art, painting new pieces, and spending time with family and friends. His artwork can be seen in several Inspira Health facilities, including the entrance to the ER at Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill, the Inspira Health Foundation offices, and the new Inspira Health Center Woodbury.
