Mullica Hill, NJ (May 12, 2026) – Inspira Health is proud to announce it has been recognized for its ongoing commitment to responsible antibiotic use, earning distinctions from both New Jersey and national health care organizations for its antimicrobial and antibiotic stewardship programs across hospital and urgent care settings. These recognitions underscore Inspira’s commitment to patient safety and high-quality care by ensuring the appropriate and effective use of antimicrobials during treatment.
As part of the New Jersey Department of Health’s (NJDOH) Antimicrobial Stewardship Honor Roll, Inspira Medical Centers in Elmer, Vineland, and Mullica Hill were named among Acute Care Services facilities awardees. Additionally, Inspira Medical Group was one of only two outpatient facilities to receive this honor.
In a separate national recognition, all Inspira Health Urgent Care locations—Glassboro, East Vineland, Laurel Springs, Mantua, Tomlin Station, Vineland, Washington Township and Woolwich—earned the Antibiotic Stewardship Commendation from the Commission on Ambulatory and Urgent Care Quality (CAUCQ) and the College of Urgent Care Medicine (CUCM).
“Achieving these recognitions across our hospitals and urgent care sites is a testament to our teams’ collective efforts to safeguard antimicrobial effectiveness in patient care,” said Lydia Stockman, Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer at Inspira Health. “Inspira Health is committed to ongoing education and evidence-based practices that combat antimicrobial resistance and support the best possible outcomes for patients, no matter which Inspira location they visit.”
To earn these state and industry distinctions, Inspira demonstrated sustained efforts and strong compliance with the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention’s (CDC) Core Elements of Antimicrobial Stewardship, based on facility type. These efforts are critical to ensuring patients receive safe, effective care while reducing unnecessary use and combating antimicrobial resistance. Because over-reliance on these medications can fuel the rise of drug-resistant “superbugs," this stewardship is vital to ensure that standard treatments remain effective rather than leaving patients vulnerable to complications from common infections.
“Access to trusted care is essential to the health of our communities. Antibiotics are among the most powerful tools and critical resources in modern health care, but their misuse can put patients at risk,” said Edward Dix, Pharm.D., MBA, CCP, FAB, System Director of Pharmacy at Inspira Health. “We are committed not only to ensuring safe use in our facilities but also to educating patients and supporting broader efforts to combat resistance and protect these life-saving medications for future generations.”
