Vineland, NJ (August 19, 2025) – Inspira Health is proud to announce that the emergency department (ED) at Inspira Medical Center Vineland has been honored with the 2025 Lantern Award from the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA), placing it among just 96 emergency departments nationwide recognized this year for nursing excellence and innovation. The Lantern Award is presented every three years and Inspira Vineland’s emergency department has now earned this accolade in 2019, 2022 and 2025.
Inspira Vineland’s ED exemplifies a commitment to evidence-based practice and a strong, positive work culture – key factors in earning its third Lantern Award. The department continuously advances patient care through innovative clinical practices, including the integration of AI technology for patient assessment. This approach has propelled superior outcomes in treating high-acuity emergencies such as stroke, ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction or STEMI – a particularly serious type of heart attack – and sepsis. Additionally, Inspira Vineland’s ED has prioritized collaboration with Inspira’s Case Management Team to support vulnerable members of the community, including individuals experiencing homelessness.
“Inspira Vineland’s repeated recognition with the Lantern Award is a testament to our unwavering commitment to quality, safety and a supportive work environment,” said Terri Spoltore, D.N.P., M.S.N., R.N., C.C.R.N., vice president of patient care services, Inspira Medical Centers Vineland and Elmer. “We are deeply grateful for our Vineland emergency department’s passion and relentless dedication to providing the highest standard of care to our community through results-driven practices and inter-department collaboration. Inspira’s culture of continuous improvement and support empowers us to meet every challenge together.”
This prestigious recognition from the ENA serves as a national benchmark for emergency departments that demonstrate exceptional and innovative leadership, clinical practice, education, advocacy and research. Recipients are selected through a rigorous application process that includes both quantitative and qualitative assessments of the department’s performance and initiatives.
