Mullica Hill, NJ (March 11, 2025) – Inspira Health today announced two new additions to its Graduate Medical Education offerings: a Neurology Residency and a Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship. Starting in the 2025-2026 academic year, these programs, accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), mark a major step forward in Inspira's commitment to addressing the increasing need for skilled and compassionate physicians in the South Jersey community. When these programs reach full enrollment, Inspira will be training 16 Neurology residents and 9 Cardiology fellows each year. This will bring the total number of residents and fellows training at Inspira hospitals to more than 376.
Inspira’s residency and fellowship programs provide unique educational opportunities for young physicians. These programs offer residents real-world training as they work side-by-side with highly skilled and experienced members of Inspira’s medical staff. Participants receive dynamic hands-on and classroom training from more than 100 physicians who make up the residency faculties. Fellows and residents in both programs will undergo comprehensive curriculum focusing on industry-leading research, cutting-edge treatment methods, and delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.
“We are thrilled to expand our graduate medical education offerings with these new programs. Thank you to our faculty for their efforts in spearheading the accreditation process to bring both the Neurology and Cardiovascular Disease programs to Inspira,” said Amy Mansue, president and CEO of Inspira Health. “As an organization committed to providing high-quality, accessible care to our community, we are honored to train the next generation of physicians. We look forward to welcoming the first classes for both programs and celebrating their invaluable contributions to our medical community.”
The Neurology Residency at Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill builds on the knowledge learned in medical school to help clinicians develop the skills necessary to become successful neurologists. In partnership with Cooper University Health Care, Nemours Children’s Health and the NeuroMusculoskeletal Institute (NMI) at the Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine, this program offers residents unique opportunities for tertiary care rotations, subspecialty training and unique clinical experiences. The Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill builds on internal medicine graduate education and residency completion, equipping clinicians with the skills they need to become successful cardiologists. In affiliation with Cooper University Health Care, this fellowship will provide exposure to a variety of complex cardiovascular cases across diverse environments, allowing them to build a comprehensive skill set in cardiovascular disease management.
“Just a few years ago, Inspira announced the addition of four new residency programs, and today we are proud to announce two more accredited programs,” said Tony Reed, M.D., Senior Vice President and Chief Quality and Safety Officer at Inspira Health. “By bringing both a neurology and cardiovascular disease graduate medical education program to our health system, we will not only enhance the specialized care provided at Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill, but also prepare potential future physicians who may choose to stay and practice in our community following their training.”
