The Inspira Health Foundation launched the public phase of its $28 million Changing Lives, Improving Communities Capital Campaign at a kick-off event at Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill yesterday. During his remarks, Kevin Gibala, the Foundation's Board Chair, explained how dollars raised will help foster healthier communities in Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties.
"As we enter the public phase of our most ambitious campaign, it's important that everyone understands the remarkable impact charitable giving can have on our loved ones, neighbors and friends – right here in South Jersey," said Gibala. "Whether it is a family who needs transportation assistance to visit their baby in the Debora F. Sager NICU, or a senior with complex medical issues who needs personalized support to navigate their healthcare journey, Inspira Health Foundation is committed to financially supporting programs and services that change lives and improve our community."
Warren Moore, Inspira Health’s president and chief operating officer, emphasized how the capital campaign aligns with Inspira’s mission, and encouraged those in attendance to support programs that resonate deeply with them.
“Our mission – to improve the health and well-being of our community – is our North Star,” said Warren Moore, president and chief operating officer of Inspira Health. “Programs and services supported by this campaign must align with our mission and demonstrate a significant benefit to those we serve. The opportunity to help your neighbors in South Jersey is very real. What are you most passionate about? Partner with us. Together, we can change lives!”
The campaign has received strong initial support from Inspira leadership, trustees, employees, medical staff, and other organizations. Building on the incredible momentum and generosity already demonstrated during the campaign’s silent phase, Inspira Health Foundation is now inviting the broader community to join this transformational effort. Every gift will help expand programs and services that support local families and strengthen the health of communities across South Jersey.
Money raised through the Changing Lives, Improving Communities Capital Campaign will support four priority impact areas that address urgent and unmet needs in the region:
"With strong community support, this campaign can, and will, build a healthier, more connected community where all of our neighbors have access to the care they deserve, close to home," said Amy Mansue, chief executive officer of Inspira Health. "And during this time when more families in our region are struggling with the day-to-day cost of living, your philanthropic support takes on even greater importance. We know that removing barriers to good health – such as food insecurity or a lack of reliable transportation – is critical to fostering healthier communities. We also understand that success requires a team approach. That’s why we are so grateful for you and our community partners who collaborate with us to lift up our neighbors and change lives."
Mansue also touched on concerns raised by local food banks about the anticipated impact of the unusually cold weather the region experienced in early spring. Many varieties of locally grown produce are expected to be less abundant and more expensive than in past years. This will increase the demand on Inspira’s Food Farmacies and the local food banks with which they partner.
For more than 125 years, community support has helped healthcare grow and flourish in the region. This unwavering philanthropic spirit has helped ensure local access to an ever-expanding array of health services for South Jersey families.
