We’ve all had a similar thought as we cruise down the snack aisle in the grocery store: If I buy low-fat cookies, chips and crackers, I can eat more of them. But that mentality may not serve you in the end.
Bariatric surgery is a mentally and physically transformative experience that impacts every facet of your life. That’s why it’s important to understand how to adjust your lifestyle, including your diet and exercise routine, before and after your procedure.
Inspira’s bariatric specialists are here to answer your questions and address your concerns to ensure you’re fully prepared for what lies ahead. This mandatory process involves a mix of educational activities including:
- Information Session
- Pre-Surgical Education Class
- Support Group Attendance
In order to qualify for bariatric surgery, candidates must attend at least one virtual or in-person information session. Additionally, a pre-surgical education class will be offered to review everything you need to know about the procedure you will undergo.
These pre-op sessions allow you to build a relationship with your bariatric surgeon, who will address your concerns and answer any questions you may have. Our bariatric specialists will cover a range of topics and procedures in detail, including:
- Sleeve Gastrectomy
- Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Band (Lap Band Surgery)
- Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Surgery (Gastric Bypass)
- Endoscopic Intragastric Balloon Placement (Orbera®)
At the end of the pre-op class, you will receive proof of attendance to submit to your insurance carrier.
